NAD+

NAD (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is an essential coenzyme found in all living cells that plays a crucial role in a variety of biological processes. It is primarily involved in cellular energy production and DNA repair. There are two forms of NAD:

  • NAD+ (oxidized form): Acts as an electron acceptor in metabolic processes such as cellular respiration.
  • NADH (reduced form): Transports electrons for energy production, especially in the mitochondria.

As we age, NAD+ levels decrease, contributing to aging and the onset of age-related diseases.
